Hand Wound Monday: Recluse Spider Part 4 of 6

This is it. This is the picture that makes me cringe every time. I consider this to be the absolute worst picture of them all. Notice how the skin is peeled back and crumpled?

disgusting spider bite on the finger
Not only that, but what is it on? Taxes? Horrifying Dad, horrifying. Next week, the healing begins…

  1. Egads!
How come it’s always so moist looking? Did he keep it wrapped up or something? Surely he didn’t just walk around with it out like that, did he?
Egads! That’s one monsterous looking finger!

  2. Oh god, I just threw up in my mouth.

Also, wtf??! Wasn’t he experiencing unbearable pain with all of this?

I believe, however, that this is going to heal. And by “going to” I mean “totally” and by “to heal” I mean “falling the fuck off”.

  3. LOL! Definitely Goatse meets Aliens…..totally hectic!! I reckon I’d be happy to lose a finger and never have to see that crazy wound again!

  4. When I look at these pictures, I can’t help but wonder how your dad was able to manage. Was he in pain? Could he sleep? Was he concerned/fascinated/surprised by what his body was doing?

You’ve said that he sought medical care, but it might have been inadequate. (Y’think?) I’m wondering: is this state -Part 4- actually part of the healing process?

Again, God bless your dad, posthumously. Of all that comprises a long life, isn’t it funny that this is part of his legacy?

BTW, I’m thinking you may want to keep this from the Arizona board of tourism. 🙂

  5. Hey, you might want to mask out any of the legible
numbers on whatever paper is under his hand there.

If some of it is tax-related, who knows what wierd
    stuff could happen.
