Hand Wound Monday: Recluse Spider Part 6 of 6

These are the last images I saw of his finger. As you can see, it had healed pretty incredibly considering it came from this. Ah, the wonders of the human body. Anyways, I’m sure he’s getting his share of spider bites in whatever form of afterlife he is occupying, R.I.P. Pops! The healing:

Thanks for all the kind words and attention everyone has been giving to these pictures. By popular request, I am going to attempt to continue ‘Hand Wound Monday’ each week. No, not by injuring myself each week, hopefully by submissions. Next week, ‘crocodile attack!’

  1. i can’t believe they didn’t have to amputate it! amazing! hey you should put links to each part (part 1-6) on each relevant spider-bite blog post. i started from post 1 and had to look around for part 2 and so on. anyways, thanks for posting, this was interesting and disgusting. i’m off to go watch videos of bot flies now. pace!!

  2. It is definitely morbid curiosity…but I had a spider bite of my own (just small & normal) and I was looking up stuff and happened upon your page. Your dad’s finger (may he rest in peace) was GROSS yet interesting at the same time. I had to go to your archive to see all 6 posts and while I was here I read some of your other posts and wow! I’m a fan now. haha Keep being interesting!

  3. Hi
I am in week 4 of my brown recluse spider bite so was looking to see if I would heal eventually and how the scar might look, I do have medical attention on my side.
I got it in Ethiopia and RIP your father but I hope it was all unrelated.
If I can find out how I will send you some gross pictures.
